Richmond, Va. – Aimee McCarthy has been named GENEDGE Regional Growth Manager for the Central Virginia area that includes the Richmond Metropolitan Statistical Area, Greater Fredericksburg Region, the Northern Neck, and the Interstate 95 corridor South to Emporia.

Aimee has been with GENEDGE for over 12 years. She joined the organization in 2006 as the East Region Business Development Manager and later accepted the position of Marketing Director in 2014. During her time in these roles, Aimee established strong relationships with companies and organizations throughout Virginia, led successful projects and marketing campaigns, and helped establish the marketing team into a self-managing department.

In the Regional Growth Manager role, Aimee will work to build new and strengthen existing relationships in the region. She will also work directly with manufacturing and industrial companies to help them assess needs for growth and identify ways to create a positive impact for the client, the region, and the Commonwealth. “I’m excited to be back in a more direct client role,” commented Aimee. “In 2014, we made an investment in Marketing to increase awareness of GENEDGE and grow our service model through some diversified investor funding streams. We are now building field staff to more closely serve our regional communities.”

Aimee holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University, an MBA from the University of Richmond, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a longtime member of the Virginia Economic Developers Association and also serves on the Board of the Virginia SPQA.
