Jeff Shook

Weyers Cave, Va. – Jeff Shook recently transitioned to the role of Automation and Advanced Manufacturing Practice Manager after serving as the Lean & Engineering Practice Manager at GENEDGE for the past four years.

In this new role as Automation and Advanced Manufacturing Practice Manager, Jeff will be fully devoted to this practice area. This includes not only understanding client and market needs, but also developing new service offerings, enhancing current service offerings to better fill gaps, develop trusted third-party technology providers, and work on automation-related projects. In order to develop technical solutions over an array of projects, Jeff will also be implementing various automation principles, process control and monitoring, robotics, and more. “In the next 5 years there are going to be major advances in manufacturing process control and robotics that are easier than ever for small and mid-sized manufacturers to implement. The price and complexity of implementation is getting easier all the time, making it almost impossible to ignore for manufacturers looking to stay competitive,” commented Jeff. “Emerging trends and applications apply to digital work instructions, RFID, additive manufacturing, smart machine controls, as well as robots and cobots. Scale of benefits could compete with the lean manufacturing revolution of the last 30 years for impact to supply chains and profits. I look forward to assisting Virginia manufacturers identify implementation path to adopting the future of manufacturing and supply chains.”

Prior to joining GENEDGE in 2016, Jeff worked as a Corporate Manufacturing Engineer at Daikin Applied Americas in Staunton for almost ten years. He also held the Manufacturing Engineering Manager position at JBT Foodtech, formerly FMC Foodtech in Ohio, Advanced Manufacturing Engineer at General Cable in Kentucky, Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Monarch Marking Systems in Ohio, and lastly, Production Engineer at Pioneer Electronic Corporation also in Ohio.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from the University of Dayton. Moreover, he is a Certified Six Sigma Blackbelt, a Certified Kaizen Trainer, and maintains a 10-Hour OSHA Certification. In addition, he is a member of the ASQ Blue Ridge Chapter.
