Names Wayne Smith As Industrial Liaison

Martinsville, Va. — GENEDGE has retained Wayne C. Smith to serve as statewide Industrial Liaison. Wayne’s primary role is to engage and establish strategic relationships with new business prospects; to serve as an information provider for businesses seeking services. He will also connect business prospects with program managers to best match their needs.

Wayne brings over 41 years of industrial experience in the Specialty Chemical Industry. His prior work for small to medium size privately held chemical companies include ProChem Chemicals, Alkaril Chemicals, Mona Industires, and DanChem Technologies. Larger multi-national firms have included International Playtex, Henkel, Rhodia, ISP, and Innospec.

Wayne received a BS in Chemistry from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and attended graduate school both at Stevens Institute of Technology – Hoboken, NJ (Chemical Engineering) and at Fairleigh Dickinson University – Teaneck, NJ (Organic Chemistry). In addition Wayne holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from Virginia Tech, and holds one U.S. Patent.
