SVAM Center of Excellence has partnered with GENEDGE to offer and deliver LSS Black Belt Training. The course is designed to impart the participant with a comprehensive knowledge of Lean Six Sigma concepts over 16 sessions. A significant emphasis is placed upon team dynamics and leadership and the development of the skills required to produce quantifiable project results. Certification as a Black Belt requires the participant to demonstrate their ability to apply their knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, project management and presentation skills through the completion of an approved post-training Black Belt project. Using Master Black Belt instructors with many years of practical LSS experience, GENEDGE delivers the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Training over 4 months, utilizing the latest materials, techniques and exercises.

• An associate’s degree or better or possess equivalent professional or industrial experience.
• Knowledge of basic computer skills and a familiarity with the operation of a laptop computer. Experience
with Excel is strongly recommended. The MiniTab statistical program (Version 17 or 18) is required and is
utilized throughout the Black Belt course. However, no prior experience with this software is needed.

In cooperation with Virginia Tech’s Continuing and Professional Education Group, GENEDGE will award commensurate continuing education credit units upon successful completion of this Black Belt training course and approved project. Black Belts are expected to demonstrate abilities through in-class evaluations, exercises and a completed project.
