Virginia’s Defend CUI Program
Safeguarding Covered Defense Information and Cyber Incident Reporting
Are you aware of the new wording in your contracts? Are you safeguarding your CUI? Do you have a security plan? No? We can help you.
GENEDGE has been granted funding from the Department of Defense and the Virginia Department of Veteran’s Affairs to pilot Virginia’s Defend CUI Program (DEFENDCUI-VA). This program helps Virginia companies improve their cyber security for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). This grant will pay up to 80% of our costs so you can begin your journey to increased cyber security.
“Covered defense information” means unclassified controlled technical information or other information, as described in the Controlled Unclassified Information Registry at http://www.archives.gov/cui/registry/category-list.html, that requires safeguarding or dissemination controls pursuant to and consistent with law, regulations, and Government wide policies, and is—
- Marked or otherwise identified in the contract, task order, or delivery order and provided to the contractor by or on behalf of DoD in support of the performance of the contract; or
- Collected, developed, received, transmitted, used, or stored by or on behalf of the contractor in support of the performance of the contract.
