Regions 8 consists of the cities of Buena Vista, Harrisonburg, Lexington, Staunton, Waynesboro, Winchester, and the counties of Augusta, Bath, Clarke, Frederick, Highland, Page, Rockbridge, Rockingham, Shenandoah, and Warren. Region 8 spans the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and is comprised of 16 cities and counties. The regional geography encompasses shining examples of American countryside in the Shenandoah National Park and George Washington & Jefferson National Forest, along with an abundance of historical properties. This area is also famed for its agricultural legacy and the industry continues to generate significant economic activity within the region.
Region 9 consists of the city of Charlottesville, and the counties of Albemarle, Culpeper, Fauquier, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Nelson, Orange, and Rappahannock. Region 9 incorporates eleven localities in Central Virginia that together encompass rural settings and active downtown main streets.
