FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MARTINSVILLE, Va. — Today GENEDGE announced the receipt of a $500,000 single-year award from the Office of Economic Adjustment to fund the initial pilot of the Virginia Department of Defense (DoD) Rural Supply Chain Growth Program.
GENEDGE will operate the program to identify, select, and assist Virginia companies in rural regions, micropolitan, and small metropolitan areas to achieve growth by expanding their DoD related business. Companies will create a foundation for sustainable growth and increase capacity for future demand. In addition, this effort will address the imbalance in growth between large and rural locations.
“Using our proven expertise in innovation, strategy, supply chain optimization, and technology acceleration, GENEDGE will help rural companies identify opportunities based on DoD supply chain needs to drive development of new, commercially viable offerings for successful growth,” according to Bill Donohue, President & Executive Director. “The program will address the goals of DoD to improve the resiliency of Virginia-based supply chain businesses and of the Commonwealth by supporting needed economic growth in our rural areas.
