GENEDGE PROMOTES DEAN YOUNG TO VICE PRESIDENT, INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT

Richmond, Va. – Dean Young has accepted the new position of Vice President, Industrial Development at GENEDGE, based in the Richmond office.

Dean has worked with GENEDGE for total of 11 years as a third party consultant as well as a GENEDGE Engagement Manager providing consulting, program management and service development. “I feel lucky to work with the talented and dedicated professionals we have at GENEDGE and look forward to continuing to work together to be the best public resource in Virginia to help companies innovate, compete and grow,” Dean commented on his new appointment.

This new senior executive role will include development of and direction for GENEDGE Regional Development Managers, and management of significant statewide and regional growth opportunities for targeted industrial companies and clusters.

Dean holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from Virginia Tech. He is certified in the following: NIST MEP LEAN Instructor in Lean Principles, Value Stream Mapping and Lean Supply Chain Logistics, and Balanced Scorecard Practitioner by the Balanced Scorecard Institute. He is a Jonah in the Theory of Constraints, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (certified by Virginia Tech and the ASQ); Master Black Belt and Senior LSS Instructor United States Marine Corps. For his noteworthy work in 2008 with the American Red Cross Biomedical Services, Dean was recognized as Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Practitioner of the Year.
