C.B. Fleet Strengthens Its Lean Culture with GENEDGE Training
Client Profile
C.B. Fleet is a Virginia-based manufacturer of over-the-counter healthcare and personal care products serving the pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods industries. Known for innovation, quality and reliability, the company continually invests in its people and processes to support operational excellence.
Situation
C.B. Fleet already had a strong Lean culture and continuous improvement mindset. Leadership wanted to enhance this culture by deepening associates’ understanding of Lean principles and providing practical tools to further optimize processes, reduce waste, and improve cross-team collaboration.
Solution
C.B. Fleet partnered with GENEDGE, Virginia’s MEP Center and a member of the NIST MEP National Network™, to deliver a series of Lean Process Improvement workshops.
The hands-on training focused on applying Lean tools such as 5S, value stream mapping, and root cause analysis to real operations. Associates worked on exercises tied directly to their day-to-day processes, practicing problem-solving and process improvement techniques in a practical setting.
“Our team was already Lean-savvy, but this training helped take their knowledge to the next level,” said Jeff Thompson, Vice President of Operations at C.B. Fleet. “It reinforced our culture and gave associates tangible tools to drive even more effective improvements.”
“C.B. Fleet’s leadership demonstrated real commitment by investing in their people,” said Frank Otabor, Business Services Director at GENEDGE. “This kind of support ensures that an already strong Lean culture continues to grow as part of the organization’s DNA.”
