GENEDGE assists FasTech in achieving ISO 9001 Certification
Company Profile:
Based in Danville Virginia, FasTech was established in 2018 to provide cutting edge metal additive 3D printing, using the first Gefertec 3D metal printing machines in the U.S. Three years on, FasTech also has a range of state-of-the-art machining centers to complete the production process on site, plus the latest equipment for reverse engineering.
Challenge:
FasTech identified the need for a more comprehensive action plan to address quality system gaps. A one-day intensive session was conducted with FasTech management personnel, covering ISO 9001 requirements and performing a gap analysis of the current quality system.
Following the session, multiple days of on-site and remote assistance were provided to implement the action plan. This included developing management support systems such as a quality manual, corrective action system, risk management system, measurable quality objectives, personnel qualification processes, document control, records control, and a communication plan.
To upgrade FasTech’s quality management system to meet AS 9100 requirements, GENEDGE offered consulting support to navigate the AS 9100 standard. The gaps between ISO 9001:2015 and AS 9100 were identified, and strategies were suggested to fill these gaps and prepare for registration.
Results:
Through GENEDGE’s engagement, FasTech received a complete Gap Analysis and templates for constructing a quality manual aligned with ISO 9001:2015. Additionally, an internal audit report was provided, noting non-conformances and opportunities for improvement, meeting all ISO 9001:2015 “Internal Audit” requirements. Over the next three years, this project is expected to generate $100,000.00 in new sales, resulting in $765,000.00 in total new investment, as well as the creation of two jobs.
