We are exciting to Join Chamber RVA’s Mission Tomorrow Event Again This Year!

Mission Tomorrow is a forward-thinking, career exploration event that focuses on the development of our local youth and workforce. This Richmond, VA Chamber event hosts 8th graders and features a three-day program that introduces 150 local businesses to over 11,000 8th grade students from surrounding areas in Charles City, Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent, Richmond, and Powhatan.

Local businesses set up interactive, informational booths to teach students about potential career opportunities and the educational paths to get there. Be sure to stop by GENEDGE and Babylon Micro Farms’ booth at the show.

Last year along with the team at Porvair Filtration Group we had the pleasure of introducing manufacturing, industrial and STEM careers in manufacturing to 8th graders from the Richmond and Chesterfield area.

We are very excited to be doing it again this year with Babylon Micro-farms!

Local Educators Get a Tour at the Mack Trucks Plant in Roanoke County!

GENEDGE is participating in MFG Day at the Made In Hopewell (VA) Trade Show: October 4, 2024

MiH is a celebration of all things manufacturing, both big and small, in the Hopewell-Prince George area. The conference will generate awareness, pride, and new connections around our community’s advanced technical knowledge and locally made products.

The first annual Made in Hopewell Conference + Trade Show will take place in Downtown Hopewell on National Manufacturing Day (Friday, October 4th) and feature speakers, panelists, demos, and an entrepreneur Trade Show with small business grant awards.

GENEDGE, will be part of the panel, speaker and will have a booth at the Small Batch Manufacturing Trader Show.

Register for Made in Hopewell

On October 15, Powhatan High School students enrolled in the Career and Technical Education program and their teachers toured 3D Design and Manufacturing’s plant in Powhatan, VA!

On October 15, Powhatan High School students enrolled in the Career and Technical Education program and their teachers toured 3D Design and Manufacturing’s plant in Powhatan, VA!

Mr. Modlin, owner and operator, along with other members of his staff, showed the students mechanical engineering design and manufacturing of metal parts and assemblies to include fabrication, machining, welding, finishing, and engraving. They saw how the varies machines were programed, and how the parts were measured. They even got to hold prototypes of some of the parts that are manufactured at the facility. A member of the Powhatan Chamber also attended the tour.

Students received invaluable information and knowledge from Mr. Modlin who is a 30 year plus veteran in the field of manufacturing! GENEDGE is committed to helping students like these learn more about essential careers.
