About CHT USA, Inc.
CHT USA, Inc. is a division of CHT, a global producer of specialty silicone elastomers and rubber with manufacturing plants and technical laboratories in Germany, Austria, the UK, Italy, North America and China and an international network of offices and partners in over 60 countries. The Richmond, Virginia manufacturing plant with a state-of-the-art testing and development lab was acquired in 2017.
The Challenge
As part of CHT, the plant was required to become certified to the international ISO 14001:2015 standard. They reached out to GENEDGE to provide an environmental assessment of their facility’s compliance to the most recent revision of the standard.
MEP Center’s Role
GENEDGE performed an onsite gap analysis onsite with company personnel, a rigorous process that would identify existing gaps in CHT USA, Inc.’s current Environmental Management System against criteria described by ISO 14001:2015. Written action plans were jointly developed to address these issues.
Subsequently they have utilized GENEDGE services for multiple projects including ISO 9001 and 14001 training, Internal Audit Training, OSHA 10 training and certification, and Lean awareness/ 5S training. All employees who complete the training courses receive certificates to provide evidence of competence.
