GENEDGE HIRES ASHLEY HUDSON FOR NEW ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER ROLE

Martinsville, Va. — Ashley Hudson was recently hired as the Administrative Manager for GENEDGE, based at headquarters in Martinsville.

In this new role, Ashley will join our administrative team, reporting to Josh Dawson, CFO and Business Manager. She will focus on grants management, including grant writing and researching funding opportunities. Ashley will also administer the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership impact survey to GENEDGE clients. Another aspect of her job will include monitoring project execution and closure, supporting the operations and industrial development teams. “I’m excited to join GENEDGE and have the opportunity to become part of such a talented team of professionals who are passionate about helping Virginia companies innovate, compete, and grow,” commented Ashley. “It’s an outstanding organization and a valuable asset to the Commonwealth—I’m looking forward to contributing to its success.”

Ashley has prior experience with the MEP Network. She spent 10 years working with Industry Expansion Solutions (IES), the administrator for the North Carolina MEP Center. While in this occupation, she contributed to their growth and innovation, marketing, strategy, and operations divisions. In addition to her work with IES, Ashley served three years as a consultant to entrepreneurs and early-stage companies where she did grant writing, strategic analysis and planning, and solution identification. She has experience as a liaison connecting startups and small businesses with resources and partners. Ashley also served on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Business Incubation Association (NCBIA), holding the office of Board President from 2012 to 2013 and 2015 to 2017 as well as Board Vice President in 2014.

Ashley earned a Bachelor of Science in Media Studies with a concentration in Business Media and Communications from Radford University.
